Clarissa Wright
Associate Attorney
A former prosecutor who is now representing clients in all criminal matters in Western Massachusetts and the surrounding communities, Clarissa Wright has defended clients in both jury and bench trials and has developed a reputation as an aggressive attorney who gets results. She has tried cases involving various misdemeanors and felonies, including assault and battery, weapons charges, and drug charges.
Attorney Wright knows firsthand how law enforcement and District Attorneys put together their cases; she used to be in their shoes and has the Playbook. Now she's using that insight to her client's advantage in fighting criminal charges every day.
Notwithstanding her vast experience prosecuting domestic violence matters, Clarissa's experience gives her the ability to negotiate and work effectively with prosecutors in many areas. Taking each situation on a case-by-case basis, Clarissa depends upon different variables such as the prosecutor's personality, how long he or she has been a prosecutor, local custom, the facts of the case, the client's objectives, and the judge involved in the case in determining an appropriate defense strategy. It is the weighing, considering, and balancing of these factors and determining the best way to approach plea bargaining that makes plea negotiations an art.
Ms. Wright knows that resolving your case in the best way possible comes down to knowing the District Attorneys that are assigned to your case and the courtrooms where the action takes place. Clarissa has developed excellent relationships with the decision-makers in most of the District courts in Massachusetts. These relationships and her reputation as a winner at trial produce results that other attorneys only dream of.
Clarissa attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia where she received her undergraduate degree. From there, she attended Western New England Law School in Springfield, and received the Jim Faision Leadership Award upon graduation. She is a member of the Hampden Bar Association and speaks regularly on the topic of constitutional rights in area schools, along with providing alcohol- and drug-education to local students. |
