Call a Bristol County Criminal Law Attorney when you need one -
Don't Wait for Daylight or Until Monday Morning!
The criminal defense attorneys from The Massachusetts Criminal Defense Group work around the clock. That means that you can contact us at any time of the day or night, seven days a week. Don't talk to anybody - the police, the prosecutors, even your friends - until you talk to us! If you do, anything you say to police or others in positions of authority will be used against you if possible. Even worse, statements made to family and friends may provide prosecutors the opportunity to turn them into involuntary witnesses against you based on those statements.
Contact our attorneys for a no-obligation case evaluation - 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, or call (800) 461-6900.
In the Bristol County area, there are four District Courts located in New Bedford, Fall River, Taunton, and Attleboro. The District Courts only handle cases involving misdemeanors, such as assault and battery cases or most types of drunk driving cases. Cases which are considered to be felonies, such as breaking and entering, certain types of larceny cases, or robbery, are heard in the Bristol Superior Court. While Bristol County has three Superior Courts - located in New Bedford, Fall River, and Taunton - it is the New Bedford Superior Court that usually handles the majority of the felony-criminal proceedings. The Bristol County District Attorney's Office is led by C. Samuel Sutter. District Attorney Sutter and his team of more than 80 prosecutors have realized their goal as the premier local prosecutorial agency in Massachusetts. Some say that, if they had their way, all criminals would end-up in the Bristol County Jail and House of Corrections at 400 Faunce Corner Road in North Dartmouth.
From the moment you're under investigation or arrested on drug charges or gun charges, you're in big trouble. No matter where you have been accused in Bristol County - Attleboro, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Freetown, Mansfield, Norton, Raynham, Rehoboth, Somerset, Swansea, or Taunton - you're up against a firm no plea bargaining policy on serious cases and, in some instances, an attempt by Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson and his team to keep you behind bars for 90 days while the D.A.'s office rapidly prosecutes your case.
Despite the state of the economy, and what you may have heard about budget cuts, Bristol County has almost unlimited resources when it comes to prosecuting your case. There is an endless number of prosecutors, police officers, detectives, lab technicians, physicians and other experts who will work hard to put - or keep you - in jail.
If You Think You're Guilty and
Want to Plead Guilty to Get it Over With…
No one likes going to court. Some people are terrified at the thought of it. That's normal, but it may also be a huge mistake. Once you have a criminal record, you can be prevented from traveling outside of Massachusetts (even to Rhode Island, Connecticut, or New Hampshire), from getting certain jobs, and can experience other ramifications.
The smartest move you can make is to hire a defense team and pay a fee which will allow your team to put time and effort into your case to counter the prosecutor's team. Our attorneys aren't afraid to stand up to the prosecutors or police officers in Bristol County. Ask around, and you may hear how our attorneys stand up to over zealous prosecutors and gain dismissals and reduced charges in the Attleboro District Court, Fall River District Court, and the Bristol County Superior Court.
We represent clients in all Bristol County courts, including college crimes from Bristol Community College, Southern New England School of Law, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Stonehill College, and Wheaton College.

Locating someone who has been arrested can be difficult without the right resources.
