About Framingham, Massachusetts
Framingham is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. As of the 2010 census, its population was 68,318. Despite its size, it follows the town meeting form of government with a town manager hired by the selectmen. It is located about halfway between Worcester and Boston via the Mass Pike and Route 9.
The town is home to a large population of Brazilian immigrants, many of whom come from Governador Valadares. It is known for its retail establishments, including the first strip mall in the United States. Framingham experienced a significant boom after World War II, and much of its housing stock is ranch houses or split levels.
Courts include the Framingham District Court and the Middlesex County Juvenile Court. The headquarters of the Massachusetts State Police and a large barracks are located in Framingham.
