One incident can quickly lead to another when tempers flare and police become involved in a situation between ex's. For one Massachusetts man, an incident with his ex-girlfriend has led to a list of charges against him, including drug charges. The 32-year-old man involved had allegedly smashed his ex-girlfriends windshield which led to the police being called on him.

The man apparently left the scene after allegedly hitting the windshield and was found later by police. Police arrested the man on a number of charges including possession of drugs, counterfeit money and ammunition charges. It is unclear what led authorities to search the man. He was also charged with malicious destruction and assault.

The man was allegedly in possession of Suboxone and cocaine. He allegedly had counterfeit $20 bills on him also. He will be arraigned on a later date for all of the charges levied against him.

Anyone facing criminal drug charges in a Massachusetts court can end up with a wide variety of possible penalties depending on the exact circumstances of the situation, the kind, class and amount of drugs and past criminal history or lack thereof. Knowing one's rights and possible penalties for possession of certain class of drugs is paramount for anyone facing criminal charges in Massachusetts. As for the other charges, those facing destruction charges or counterfeit money charges should be fully aware of the evidence that may be use against them or any kind of witness testimony or corroboration that may be part of a court proceeding so they can best prepare a defense for the charges they face.

The man recently charged with sex crimes is set to be returned to Massachusetts to face the charges. The charges stem from accusations dating back to the 1970s and 1980s.

The now 62-year-old man reportedly worked with the Boys and Girls Club as a program director. He lived in numerous places since leaving Massachusetts in the 1980s, and investigators have tracked him down. He will be returned to Massachusetts to face criminal counts of indecent assault, battery on a child and charges of rape of a child, among other charges.

An investigation has been ongoing since 2011 when a lawyer began looking into allegations. The initial target of the allegations of sex crimes at the Boys and Girls Club died in 2002. Reports indicate there are four alleged victims cooperating with authorities.

Because one of the men being investigated for sex crimes died, it may be impossible to concretely determine his role in the allegations. However, the man being extradited to Massachusetts could potentially face very serious consequences if he were to be found guilty of the sex crime charges levied against him. Many factors may determine the course of this case as it goes forward, including the age of the alleged victims, the amount of time that has passed since the alleged acts took place and whether or not there were any witnesses to any of the alleged incidents that took place at the Boys and Girls Club. With the allegations involving incidents from sol long ago, the presumption of innocence to which the man is fully entitled may be an important mainstay of his criminal defense as he puts prosecutors to their proof.

Anytime a couple gets into a car together, there is always the chance that something could go wrong because accidents can happen anytime or anywhere. However, if the driver has been drinking, there is a greater chance of an accident or an issue that could lead to an arrest. Recently, a deadly car accident occurred along a roadway that led to the arrest of a Massachusetts man as he faces charges of drunk driving.

The accident happened as the 24-year-old man was driving back from a wedding with his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend in the car with him. The car first hit a wall then collided with a tree. The female passenger died at the scene of the crash.

The driver was treated at a hospital for a head injury. He was reportedly listed in fair condition. He now faces criminal charges of motor vehicle homicide, speeding and drunk driving. He is being held on $500,000 bail.

There is no mention of why the police responding to the scene believe the driver was under the influence at the time of the car accident. Because he was injured and taken to the hospital for a head injury, there may not have been a blood draw administered. A conviction for drunk driving along with a motor vehicle death can carry heavy penalties in a Massachusetts criminal court and could greatly impact the young man's ability to be gainfully employed, his ability to drive, his finances and also his freedom. Any past issues with drunk driving or a lack thereof of any criminal record may come into play if he has to face the charges in court. Clearly, the seriousness of the allegations mandate that every effort be made to protect his legal rights while fighting for the best possible result.

When the police are observing or investigating a residence for suspected drug activity, anyone coming or going -- regardless of motive -- may find themselves part of that investigation. They may also find themselves facing drug charges if they are seen coming or going or in the residence at the wrong time. For several Massachusetts men, being observed at a house over a period time may have put them on the radar of police and in the middle of a drug investigation.

The police had apparently been watching the house for some time. They got a search warrant which led to the arrest of two residents. They were both charged with possession and intent to distribute drugs. They were also charged with intent to distribute close to a school, which carries a heavier penalty if a conviction is ultimately obtained.

Months later, police were still observing the residence and noted men meeting behind the house and exchanging something. When one man left, police pulled his car over and discovered drugs that he allegedly bought from someone at the house. This led to the arrest of several more individuals on various drug possession charges. In the house and on the individuals, police allegedly found heroin, cocaine, marijuana and Suboxone.

In the Massachusetts criminal court system, drug charges that result in a conviction can carry a wide variety of penalties, some being very severe. In a case such as this, the potential sentences or charges handed down can vary depending who actually had drugs on their person and who just may have been in the house where drugs were present. Any past drug convictions, or lack thereof, may also play a role in circumstances where a plea bargain for a lesser charge is sought, an option that may be available after a careful assessment of the allegations and supporting evidence prosecutors intend to offer in court.

Crimes against children carry hefty criminal penalties. However, child sex crimes may carry some of the most severe potential punishments, especially if there is more than one victim involved. For one Massachusetts man charged with child sex crimes, another victim coming forward after hearing about other charges leveled against him could mean severe criminal punishments if he is found guilty of any of the charges.

The 49-year-old man allegedly helped take care of children in a day care his wife operated. Through access to the day care, he was accused of abusing over a dozen kids who were between the ages of eight days old to over three years old. After the case made the news, another alleged victim came forward to allege abuse that the accuser says happened between 1990 and 1994.

The man was arraigned on a rape of a child charge and also charged with indecent assault and battery due to the new allegations against him. He currently faces 100 counts of sexual abuse and his wife was also charged for her role in the alleged incidents. She faces charges of running an unlicensed day care facility and reckless child endangerment. She will remain on house arrest until her trial.

Every client facing criminal charges in Massachusetts is entitled to a fair trial and access to a legal defense representative regardless of the charges or evidence against them. In the case of child sex crimes, knowing what evidence may be presented in court can help any client decide the best course of action when preparing for a criminal defense. In these kinds of cases, physical evidence, any past child abuse convictions or charges and the ages of the accuser may all play a role in how a case is handled and what kind of penalty or sentence may be possible.

Any time there is a juvenile involved in a serious or violent crime, the punishment varies than that of adults involved in the same kind of situations. However, there may still be serious consequences regardless of the age of those charged. It remains to be seen what kind of consequences a Massachusetts teen may face in relation to his arrest for an assault against a woman.

Reports indicate police had to respond to a call regarding a stabbing. When they arrived, they found 28-year-old woman in need of medical assistance due to injuries from being stabbed. The stabbing victim was listed in serious condition according to reports.

Police tracked down a suspect who had fled the scene before they arrived. They found and arrested a 14-year-old boy who is suspected of having stabbed the woman. Authorities contend the stabbing was not a domestic violence situation, yet they did not elaborate as to what happened or what the relationship was between the two parties.

The police did not report what kind of evidence they may have or why they arrested the teen for the assault with a knife. When a juvenile is facing serious charges of assault, or for any other violent crime in Massachusetts, jail time in a juvenile detention center is a possibility. Also, juveniles that commit certain violent crimes may find the charges against them upgraded to an adult charge if they are of a certain age already, have a past record or if the crime is particularly violent in nature. Probation and community service may also be handed down to juveniles who are actually convicted of a crime.

An ongoing and far reaching two year federal investigation has resulted in arrest of several men. The drug charges led to the arrest of seven Massachusetts men and the search of nine homes and businesses. Officials believe the alleged drug ring was responsible for a great deal of illegal prescription drug dealing in the southern part of Massachusetts.

The investigation involved the local police, Drug Enforcement Administration, and also the Internal Revenue Service. Phone calls were reportedly monitored and a 32-year-old Massachusetts man has been labeled as the leader of the far-reaching drug operation. He allegedly distributed 25,000 pills of Oxycodone in a matter of five months.

An arrest of the alleged leader and two other individuals came as they travelled through Connecticut. At the time they were pulled over, there was $50,000 in cash in the vehicle and 2,500 pills. According to reports, the drug crimes against the men could mean 15 to 20 years jail time in federal prison as seven of the men face drug charges on a federal level. Before that can happen, however, the government has the responsibility of proving the claims made in a court of law.

It is unclear what all evidence may be used against the men arrested during this drug investigation, especially those who were not in the car at the time the alleged ring leader was arrested. The drug charges against the other men may possibly lead to any kind of penalty from jail time to probation or community service, depending on their criminal past or lack thereof. While each may have been a part of the initial investigation, their individual roles in an alleged drug ring can mean very different levels of charges and different outcomes for each of them in a Massachusetts criminal court.

For one man, allegedly attempting to flee and outrun police may have landed him in more legal trouble than if he had pulled over initially. The 28-year-old Massachusetts man faces numerous criminal charges including drunk driving after an incident on Massachusetts streets. The incident happened in the early morning hours of a Saturday.

The man was registered speeding by a radar gun. It is reported that he was driving 82 miles per hour. As the officer tried to pull him over, he then allegedly sped up and reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. With the help of a second officer, the man was ultimately pulled over.

The report describes the man as being belligerent when the officers were able to arrest him. He is charged with speeding, failure to stay in his lane and failure to stop for police in addition to the drunk driving charge. He was later released on bail.

While the drunk driving charge alone can carry serious consequences in a Massachusetts criminal court, the additional charges could also lead to other severe punishments and fines. The charges levied against the man can affect his career path, his family and his ability to drive and also his finances as there are hefty fines for drunk driving in Massachusetts. He may also face jail time. If someone in this position were able to plea bargain the charges against them, they could possibly be able to avoid jail time, lessen fines and or lower the time they must go without a driver's license.

Schools all across the country have started to take incidents of fighting and bullying much more seriously than in years past. In Massachusetts recently, a school fight in a locker room has led to serious charges against one of the teens. The 17-year-old has been charged with assault and battery.

The incident reportedly took place in the gym locker room between the 17-year-old junior and a sophomore. The junior allegedly used a belt to hit the other boy and hence the charge entails assault with a dangerous weapon. The young man who was hit then sought medical care at the school nurse's office.

The school officials stated that disciplinary action was taken but would not publicly elaborate. The student arrested and facing charges is also the high school football captain. He was later released after being arrested.

The charges of assault and battery against the high school student can carry serious criminal penalties and can even result in jail time. It remains to be seen what other details may emerge regarding this case; such as a motive, what initiated the incident and the exact nature of the injuries to the other party. Any past indiscretions involving violence and the exact nature of the evidence against the student may all factor into how this case unfolds and what kind of penalty he may face in a Massachusetts criminal court. It also remains to be seen what role his age may play into the possible outcome of this case, as he is a juvenile.

Anytime a sex crime charge is made against anyone, the damage to one's reputation can be immeasurable regardless of the outcome. For one Massachusetts karate teacher, his years of teaching in the area and reputation as a family man may be on the line as he prepares to answer criminal charges of sexually assaulting a student. The 40-year-old instructor is accused of assault against a 10-year-old female student.

The girl involved purportedly told her mother that the instructor assaulted her during a class months ago. The class was a private session. The instructor contends that the incident in question was an accident that occurred during a training game. He reportedly said the two were in the midst of the training game when they fell down together. The instructor also stated that he did not discuss the incident with the girl's parents after it happened.

The wife of the instructor publicly declared her belief that her husband is innocent of the charges. He has no past criminal history. Nevertheless, he was ordered to not be in contact with the victim or her family. The incident is still being investigated by the police.

Cases of sexual assault or crimes against children can be more complicated than they may seem when there are no independent witnesses to the incident. The age of the accuser or the exact nature of the incident may even suggest a misunderstanding. There could even be a misinterpretation of the events in cases where a young child makes accusations against an instructor of a physical sport where there may be close contact between the two. In this case, the Massachusetts man facing criminal charges may benefit from focusing on the evidence prosecutors plan to present against him as he fights to clear his name before the court and in the community at large.

One night has led to a long list of charges and now a prison sentence for a young man. The Massachusetts man pled guilty to one criminal charge along with many others related to an incident in Feb. 2012. The total number of charges he pleaded guilty to in connection to the evening incidents was 31.

According to reports, the 25-year-old man and two others went on a crime spree that ended with roughly $600,000 in damages. They reportedly stole vehicles, spilled diesel fuel and then set two businesses ablaze after breaking into them. The cost of the diesel clean-up was reported to be $100,000.

Upon pleading guilty to the 31 charges levied against him, the man received a seven year prison sentence. The status of any criminal proceedings against the two others that were charged was not disclosed, and it is not clear if they also elected to plead guilty. The report also noted the man has substance abuse problems and also mental health issues.

While pleading guilty resulted in a prison term, the number and severity of the attempted arson charges could very well have landed him a harsher sentence in Massachusetts criminal court. When there may be substance abuse issues or mental health issues plaguing an individual, there may be consideration for treatment options over jail time when it comes time for a court to devise a sentence based upon a conviction for a criminal charge. With the significant amount of monetary damages in connection with this incident, the restitution a Massachusetts defendant may be considerable.

For a group of teenagers, showing up at one teen's house to discuss an issue about a girl led to a melee with injuries and a serious charge against one of the teenagers whose house was the scene for the encounter. The incident has resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man after he is said to have assaulted a Massachusetts high school senior, who is also 19 years old. A baseball bat was purported used in the assault, and the man now faces attempted murder charges.

According to the news report, the 19-year-old senior and a group of friends went to the other man's house with the intent of talking with another teen about his sister. Reportedly, one of the teens inside the home had dated the girl in question. A fight ensued, and the man whose house the teens went to wielded a baseball bat when fighting the high school senior. Others in the house reportedly had nun chucks and batons described as being the same kind used by police.

Representatives for the man who hit the other with the bat contends he was defending himself as a group of teens came to his home with intent to fight. The man in question also has a past brush with the law and was arrested previously for assault with a knife. The condition of the man hit with the bat is not listed in the report.

While the man is full entitled to the presumption of innocence as this case heads to criminal court, the assault with the bat has brought about very serious charges that could carry jail time if he were to be convicted. The intent and actions of the group who showed up to his house may play a role in supporting his contention that his actions were in self defense. However, his past criminal record may increase any jail time he could receive in a Massachusetts criminal court should a conviction ultimately be obtained. The past record and the ultimate physical condition of the man he allegedly assaulted with the baseball bat may also be relevant factors as this case proceeds toward a resolution of the pending charges.

A man faces a number of criminal charges after authorities learned of a bizarre series of events. The Massachusetts man faces charges of domestic-related assault among other allegations from what started out as a series of purported threats against a woman who was house-sitting, and then culminated in the man trying to steal items from the home the next day. A restraining order has been put in place to keep him from the home he lives at with the woman who reported the incident.

The authorities became involved when a woman called to report the 49-year-old man had come into the home where she was house-sitting and was in the midst of trying to take things. Police found the man near the home and arrested him. They then also reportedly found a Class A drug in his possession. At this point, they were reportedly told of an incident the day before where the man reportedly threatened the woman with two weapons--a meat cleaver and a knife.

The man has been charged with assault and also threat to murder. The report does not indicate the exact nature of the relationship between the man, the homeowner or the woman house-sitting. There is also no indication of a motive as to why he went to the home to take things or threaten the woman who was house-sitting.

The assault charges the man faces due to the nature of the potential weapons may carry serious consequences in a Massachusetts criminal court and may necessitate a vigorous defense at trial. There is the possibility of jail time and other potential repercussions if the man should be convicted of the charges made against him. In the meantime, however, it is important for community members to remember that all accused individuals are guaranteed the presumption of innocence until and only if proven guilty in a court of law.

For three men, a traffic stop ended in a slew of charges officials pulled over a livery van, searched the vehicle's interior and its occupants. State police pulled the van over along a Massachusetts interstate and found what they report as a large amount of cash and cocaine on one person. A passenger in the car faces drug charges while the driver and another passenger face others charges.

According to news reports, the three men were driving through Massachusetts when they were pulled over. Police discovered the driver had a warrant against him for driving with a license. They then discovered a passenger had roughly $24,000 in cocaine strapped to his body. Another passenger was also arrested for a warrant outstanding against him for not having a license.

The police searched the van and found just over $28,000 in cash inside. The 40-year-old passenger who reportedly had the cocaine under his clothes faces trafficking charges in court. The two other men also have court dates scheduled for their arraignments.

It is unclear why the men were pulled over and why they searched the passenger who reportedly had cocaine on him. The amount of drugs found on him at the time of his arrest may possibly have an impact on what kind of penalty he may get as he faces drug charges in court. Massachusetts has harsh penalties for drug charges and the man's past record may also come into play if he has one. However, not every accused individual is guilty of the charges they face and the drug charges in some cases can be dismissed. Alternatively, some accused individuals may choose to plea bargain with authorities to gain the most positive outcome in their specific cases.
